There is an urgent Need to rethink our politics and rejig the leadership. For 21 years of civil rule in Nigeria, we have allowed individuals loot our common wealth, converting all to private estates. Unfortunately, instead of seeing these persons as the common thieves they are, we allow them swagger and dominate our space; as persons with means to 'buy' our votes and shape our future. Is it not shameful that Nigerian statesmen and the leaders of industry including traditional, religious leaders and their political parties counterparts still look to former governors and political office holders to provide leadership because only them can fund the processes of our present democratic culture. We are all complicit in this epic charade of shame and abomination that plague our nation. Edo& today's Ondo Governorship elections clearly show we are captured or trapped and have become enslaved.
