Ondo Decides: Voting officially ends, vote counting begins

Voting has officially ended in the Ondo State governorship election.

The voting exercises began with the officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission getting the units ready and setting the guidelines for voting.

Voting began as early as 8.30am, with priority given to old people and the physically challenged.

Aside for a mishap which involved INEC officials where the boat conveying the officials and election materials in Ese Odo Local Government Area of Ondo State reportedly capsised, with no casualty; and gunshots at Polling Unit 11, Ward for in Akure, among a few others, the exercise has been largely peaceful.

The Police confirmed the arrest of two, saying more arrests would be effected as the situation warrants.

Supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party and the All Progressives Congress are now eagerly awaiting the outcome of the poll.
