EKITI STATE ADC CHAIRMAN HON. ILESANMI OMOLAYO SPEAKS ON 

THE CREDIBLE OPTION FOR EKITI ELECTORATE IN 2022,

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) is a political party in Nigeria. The party was originally named ‘Alliance for Democratic Change’ when it was formed in year 2005, but renamed African democratic Congress by the time the party was registered with the Nigeria Independent National Electoral Commission {INEC}. The goal of the name of the party that was changed from Alliance for Democratic Change to African Democratic Congress is to effectively encompass and reflect the aspiration of Nigeria citizens. The constitution of the party runs on the parenthesis to create grass root organization for Nigerians. On May 2008, the party was adopted by former Nigeria president, Olusegun Obasanjo political movement called coalition for Nigeria movement (CNM), Obasanjo now serves as the chairman for the party. The goal of the CNM adopting the ADC party was to work with other for bringing about desirable change in the Nigeria polity and governance which we are anticipating in the forth-coming gubernatorial election in Ekiti state. 

WHY IS ADC THE BEST OPTION FOR THE PEOPLE OF EKITI IN THE FORTH COMING GUBERNATORIAL ELECTION IN 2022?

 Hon Ilesanmi Omolayo says ,Over the years, there are been a recurrent and sustained argument that Ekiti state, like its counterparts in Nigeria underperforms due to lack of state capacity to deal with the contemporary complexities of governance.

Governance and political leadership have been driven by self-interest and other primordial considerations, which take priority over the public. The state has failed in three major areas:

!!!!Security of lives and properties Promotion of the rule of law and Provision of the visionary leadership. 

   The nature and characters of political leadership in Ekiti state explains the state incapacity for effective governance. Successive government in Ekiti, lack the political will to initiate or sustain policy or structural transformation or to embark on sound economic reform to reposition the state for greatness.No matter the upsurge of globalization and the prospects of borderless state, the expectation is for state to take a decisive role in economic transformation, growth and development and jettison every act that is inimical to improve the livelihood as well as socioeconomic and political development of the state. With the weakness of the state and its ineffectiveness, it has become challenging to eradicate impoverishment, engage in infrastructural development, and stem the tides of insurgency and terrorism, which have the potency to derail the state’s moderate political development. Due to the failed system of security in the state, a number of deaths and permanent injuries caused by the course of kidnapping is out rightly worrisome, it is disturbing that many of the cases will ever leave everlasting regret in the family of the victim. Now, therefore it is obviously evident that the successive governances in the state have not been performing its task to the optimum level, it is on this note that the people of the state should choose to have another pace of government in the state. It is best time for the people of Ekiti to embrace their future in anticipating the political party ADC as the party had created a well-prepared platform for youth. By proverbial saying, youth is said to be the leader of tomorrow which is not even in place in the course of governance in the state meanwhile the successive governance of the state had not dime it right to optimized the ability and creative thinking of the youth in government.But ADC as a political party had embraced the youth by creating platform in the party for them for those who are having interest in running for one political post or another, and also by given them a full to support to make sure that their dreams and aspirations is not cut short. The issue of security in the state had been jeopardize but notwithstanding ADC party had outlined the way forward to tightened the course of security in the state by harmonizing the local securities with the military and paramilitary forces in the state so as to ensure the safety of lives and properties. One of the key factors that plays a pivotal role in a region economic growth is the presence of a reliable and efficient transportation system, this is mainly due to the fact that a well-developed transportation system provides adequate access to the region which in turn is a necessary condition for the efficient operation of manufacturing, retail, labour and housing market. Transportation is a critical factor in the economic growth and development, there is the need to maintain and improve the existing transportation and build new infrastructures for the state wealth. Transportation infrastructure is critical to sustain the economic growth because people want to improve their standard of living and they see increased income as the way to achieve that goal, transportation system enhancement are in turns a means of maintain or improving economic opportunities, quality of life and ultimately income for the people of the state. The recurrent and successive governances in Ekiti have not been able to create a good road network which could in turn enhance the good transportation system across the nitty gritty of the state. ADC party is a credible option for the people in Ekiti in year 2022 promise to strive for excellence in all that the party engage itself, promise to create good network road across all the 16 local’s government of the state in order to improve the standard of the living of the people in the state and more so to enhance to the production of local goods.  The Human cost of bad governance in the state is evident in the low level of basic infrastructure, weak healthcare and education system, high unemployment and the number of out-of-school children, amongst other. Across the socio-economic class divide, there is a feeling that the effect of bad governance will catch up with everyone someday. Good governance depends on building strong institutions that provide the framework for politician to act in the public’s interest, it also depends on choosing competent and trustworthy politicians who have the strength of character to uphold the values of the institutions in the first place. ADC is a party that is building the myriad of political leadership that will not undermine the institutions’ integrity for self-dealing and personal gain.   For transformational change, we must build a society with core values that espouse what we hope to stand for as a state and what we hope to achieve for the state future which the party ADC is intimately inclined to and to achieve the core preference of democracy divergences. Election processes influence which individual get selected for office. In Ekiti, social cleavages exist along religious and class line which often inform their choice of candidate, rather than a politician policy preference. The recurrent and successive governances in Ekiti use a patronage system and vote buying to win elections. The culture of vote-buying is facilitated by the level of poverty in the state, amongst other things, and it used as a tool to perpetuate the poverty cycle. Broadly speaking, vote buying obstructs the democratic process by interfering with the rights of citizens to freely decide who will represent them and interests. Vote buying enables poor governance and undercuts citizens’ ability to hold the elected officials accountable. If a candidate believes all they need to do to be elected is to pay off voters and government officials, they will have no incentive to be responsive to issue in their state cared about. Therefore, the people of Ekiti are promptly warned not to involve themselves in vote buying in the forth gubernatorial election in year 2022 so as to strictly elect the right candidate and to be able to have good governance over them. We all hear that voting is important but it can be easy to fell discourage and forget the true significance of your participation elections. Voting is essential because it pushes a country democracy to function in a fair and equal way. The whole point of a democracy is to ensure that everyone has their chance to elect a candidate and vote for policies that represent and benefit their communities. Hon ilesanmi Omolayo said In order to curb the bad governance in Ekiti it is inevitable for the member of the public that getting register for voting card is very paramount as it gives them the edge to vote the candidate, they want over them as elected aspirant. The vote is precious. It is most powerful non-violent tool we have in a democratic society, and we must use it. Therefore, the member of the public should go out and register for the voting card because that is only weapon that we have to kick out the bad governance over us ………..ADC ARISE AND SHINE………
