FREDERICK Shaibu, a younger brother of the Deputy Governor of Edo State, Philip Shaibu, has been reportedly kidnapped.
He was abducted on his way to his children’s school, around Aruogba, near Benin, the Edo State capital, according to sources.
Police authorities said they had not been briefed on the incident, while sources in the Shaibu family noted that the kidnappers had not contacted the family as of the time of filing this report.
The Point learnt that the gunmen left Shaibu’s children while they took him away.
This abduction comes barely two days before the inauguration of Governor Godwin Obaseki and Philip Shaibu, following their victory at the September 19 2020 election in the state.
The family, as of the time of filing this report, had not made an official report.
